City Circle Celebrates with Neoplan Tourliner

Premium class coach operator, City Circle, with bases in London and Edinburgh, has taken delivery of four new NEOPLAN Tourliners to bolster its tourism and corporate charter operations. The new vehicles join an existing City Circle Tourliner which has proved both reliable and economical since its introduction in 2007.

The delivery also coincides with the company's 10th anniversary celebrations, arriving at a time when a new ‘winter ski’ contract had been secured which will see extensive work right across Europe.

The new 12m Tourliners are allocated to City Circle's Edinburgh branch and are currently on ‘summer season’ work and regular corporate charter work.

“We have had over 20 MANs and NEOPLANs in the fleet,” said Managing Director, Neil Pegg, “so we have previous experience of the products” excellent quality and reliability. Delivery was fast, too.

“I am especially happy that MAN and NEOPLAN now have a dedicated support network in place. I believe any coach product needs aftersales support from the manufacturer itself, and this was important for us to ‘go back’ to MAN,” he said.

“I must add that MAN's EGR ‘Add Nothing’ technology was a significant factor for us, too,” continued Pegg, “it's one less operational concern for us, and one less cost. Fuel is the major cost, of course, and I'm happy to report that the MANs remain very efficient – there's no fuel penalty with MAN's EGR engine.” he said.

City Circle also reports very positive feedback from its customers, while drivers have stated that the NEOPLANs are ‘a dream to drive’.

In just the last 24 months alone, City Circle, has acquired 32 new vehicles as either replacements or additions to its fleet.
