EGR seals it For Cotswold Green
Local bus operator, Cotswold Green in Gloucestershire, has put into service its first new MAN / Plaxton Centro combination. A low floor, and MAN's EGR 'Add Nothing' engine aboard the 'A76' 12.240 chassis, were key in the company's decision to take MAN.
The company, boasting a 16-vehicle fleet, operates throughout Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. Its new acquisition is already in service on the Bath, Yate, Chipping-Sodbury service.
‘This is our first new vehicle,’ said MD, Robert Arkell, ‘and I knew we wanted to avoid all the hassles of using AdBlue. With a fleet of our size especially, AdBlue would add significant cost and complication.
He added, ‘I've heard lots of good things about MAN, and I know for a fact that many of the larger bus groups have either taken new MAN product, or are seriously considering a move to MAN.’
Chassis specification on the 10.7 metre chassis includes a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox with integrated retarder.
Cotswold Green is located in Nailsworth, and began trading in December 2006 after acquiring the operations of Ebley Bus Ltd.
