Expressway Adds Second MAN / Plaxton Panther

Rotherham coach operator, Expressway Coaches has added a second new MAN / Plaxton Panther coach combination to its fleet. The company has now operated four MAN coach chassis.

The new R33 chassis is powered by a Euro 4 MAN 400bhp engine (with EGR ‘Add Nothing’ technology) and coupled to an MAN TipMatic 12-speed automatic transmission.

The Plaxton Panther body comes with 49 seats, three-point seat belts and an on-board TV / DVD entertainment system.

Peter Regan, Managing Director at Expressways, describes the MAN / Plaxton combination as a true workhorse.

"We’ve had experience of the MAN / Plaxton-specification for four years, and the vehicles have never put a foot wrong," he said, "and this latest addition seems to built of exactly the same stuff; we put it to work on an overseas job on the very day we had it delivered. It came back, went abroad again, and, two weeks later, it returned with not so much as a squeak or rattle."
