Tourliner takes the stand
Further evidence of NEOPLAN's strength in depth coach range comes in the shape
of its Tourliner exhibit on MAN Bus & Coach stand at EuroBus Expo. Ideal as
for short trip operations or as an economical tourer, the NEOPLAN Tourliner is a
thoroughly modern coach with workmanlike functionality.
The show stand exhibit is in the colours of Southampton-based Coliseum Coaches which
has just acquired two Tourliners. The show coach is a 12 metre chassis with 49 seats.
Power comes via MAN's 400bhp D20 Euro 4 ‘Add Nothing’ EGR engine,
and a fully automatic MAN TipMatic gearbox comes with an integral and newly-developed
‘Easy Start’ moving-off aid.
The show coach will go into service in 2009 on Coliseum's Scotland tour programme.
The company's second Tourliner will go into service in Angela Holidays livery
on Club Class tours throughout Europe.
“The Tourliner is the best quality touring coach on the market for its class,”
said Coliseum's Managing Director, Kerry Pitter, “and it represents the
best value for money, too. Productivity, reliability and comfort are first class,
and that's why we're a 100% MAN and NEOPLAN operator.”
Inside, the Tourliner features 49 reclining ‘Kiel’ seats in draylon
velour and half leather piping trim and with lateral slide feature. Further equipment
includes a Frenzel boiler with toilet top hot water dispenser and satellite navigation
with reversing camera supplied and fitted in the UK by AD Coach Systems.
Coliseum has been a loyal MAN and NEOPLAN operator in recent years too, having acquired
the UK's first two Tourliners in 2006 and, last year, two Beulas bodied MANs.
The company now has four Tourliners in its fleet.
